2024 • Cebu
The inaugural Philippine Catholic Educators Congress was successfully launched in Cebu in partnership with the Salesians of Don Bosco South Province.

The congress expanded its reach through collaboration with the Davao Association of Catholic Schools, bringing together educators from across Mindanao and beyond.

Organized by Don Bosco Press, Inc. through SalesianaBooks, the Philippine Catholic Educators Congress (PCEC) is inspired by the educational philosophy of Saint John Bosco, the “Father and Teacher of the Youth.” It is designed for school heads, pastoral leaders, rectors, directors, Christian Living Education (CLE) coordinators, principals, assistant principals, and other key stakeholders in Catholic education.
Rooted in Don Bosco’s preventive system of education—centered on reason, religion, and loving-kindness—PCEC promotes the holistic formation of young people by integrating academic excellence, spiritual growth, and values-based leadership. The congress provides opportunities to learn from distinguished Catholic educators, Church leaders, and experts who share insights into the evolving realities of Catholic schooling.
Through keynote addresses, panel discussions, and collaborative learning sessions, participants explore current challenges, emerging opportunities, and innovative educational practices. The congress seeks to strengthen Catholic schools as communities of faith, learning, and service that form young people who are academically competent, morally grounded, and socially responsible.

The theme of the Philippine Catholic Educators Congress, “Strengthening Catholic Families through School Pastoral Programs,” underscores the vital role that Catholic Schools play in reinforcing the family as the cornerstone of society and faith. In a time when families face numerous challenges, this theme calls on educators to create and enhance pastoral programs that not only nurture students but also engage and support their families in living out their Catholic faith. Harmony at Home and School
This talk aims to harmonize Don Bosco’s Preventive System—centered on Reason, Religion, and loving-kindness. By reinforcing these core principles, we can cultivate nurturing environments where young people thrive morally and spiritually. Key objectives include refreshing educational and familial practices, building a culture of hope, enhancing collaboration between parents and educators, and celebrating spiritual growth.
To Know, To Love, and To Dream
Inspired by the teachings of Pope Francis, this session will delve into the themes of knowledge, love, and hope as essential elements of Catholic education and family life. “To Know” refers to the importance of understanding the faith and the world through a Catholic lens. “To Love” emphasizes the call to live out the faith through acts of charity, compassion, and service, rooted in a deep relationship with God. “To Dream” encourages families to envision a future filled with hope, guided by the principles of faith and inspired by the Holy Spirit. This session will offer insights into how educators and families can work together to cultivate these values in children, helping them become joyful and hopeful witnesses of the Gospel in their daily lives.
Educating Parents: The Hidden Curriculum in Schools
The hidden curriculum offers a fascinating glimpse into the often-overlooked lessons that shape students’ experiences in educational settings. This concept extends beyond what children learn; it also highlights how schools can influence parents through various programs and interactions.
